NEW
New: Deploy your application in minutes with Shard AI

Host your Go app from source or a prebuilt binary.

Upload a Go source project for an automatic build or a prebuilt binary. Deploy Gin, Fiber, Echo, chi or discordgo with a clear production startup flow.

Go workload examples

From Gin APIs to background services and Discord bots.

Shard Cloud runs Go web services, long-running processes and bots from the source project or prebuilt binary and deployment configuration you provide.

Explore capabilities

Gin, Fiber, Echo and chi APIs

Host HTTP APIs, webhooks and services written with Gin, Fiber, Echo or chi. Add the module dependencies to go.mod and expose the port your web application needs.

Go services and workers

Run a Go process for queues, scheduled work or integrations. The deployment guide covers startup configuration; use logs and resource metrics to follow the process.

discordgo bots

Host a discordgo bot or another Go integration. Put the token in environment variables and use the application logs to follow connections, events and errors.

Choose source or binary

Go hosting for source builds and compiled binaries.

Deploy a Go module for an automatic build or a prebuilt executable, then operate it with persistent storage, domains, logs and restart support.

Upload source or a binary

Deploy a Go module for an automatic build, or upload a tested executable in a ZIP or RAR archive.

Automatic module build

For source uploads, Shard Cloud resolves the Go module dependencies and builds the application during deployment. A prebuilt-binary upload skips that build step and starts the executable you configure.

Persistent application files

Keep Go-generated files on the 10 GB persistent disk across application restarts.

Publish an HTTPS address

Every web application gets a free HTTPS address under *.shardweb.app. Connect your own domain with Core or a higher plan.

Use logs and resource metrics

Application logs show build, startup and runtime output. Memory and CPU metrics let you size a Go API, service or bot from its actual workload.

Automatic restart

Go applications support automatic restart. Manage the process from the dashboard and use the logs to investigate errors that stop it.

Deployment setup

How to deploy a Go application on Shard Cloud.

Prepare a source project or prebuilt binary, configure the deployment, then verify the running workload.

Get started
01
Add the source files
Include main.go, go.mod and .shardcloud. The module needs a main() entry file and a valid go.mod that lists its dependencies.
02
Configure the deployment
Shard Cloud resolves the module and builds it during deployment, so there is no build command to set.
03
Verify the workload
Logs show build, startup and runtime output.

From connection to the first decision, in one flow.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about Go hosting

Both work. For a source build, upload main.go, go.mod and .shardcloud, and Shard Cloud builds it on deploy. For a prebuilt binary, compile it for Linux with GOOS=linux GOARCH=amd64 go build -o app main.go, then upload the app file with a .shardcloud that sets MAIN=app.

Yes. Shard Cloud supports Go workloads, including Gin, Fiber, Echo and chi HTTP applications, long-running services, and bots built with discordgo. Include the dependencies in go.mod and configure the project entry point before deployment.

None for a source upload: Shard Cloud resolves go.mod and builds the module during deployment. For a prebuilt binary, build it yourself with GOOS=linux GOARCH=amd64 go build -o app main.go and set MAIN=app.

Use it whenever you build the binary yourself: GOOS=linux GOARCH=amd64 go build -o app main.go. A binary built for Windows or macOS won't execute on Shard Cloud. Source uploads don't need it, because Shard Cloud builds them on Linux.

Usually not. A bot that connects through Discord's gateway does not need a public web address. Configure web publication and listen for HTTP traffic only when the bot receives webhook callbacks or exposes an API.

Set VERSION=LATEST for the newest supported Go release, or VERSION=recommended for the platform's recommended release. Choose the setting compatible with your module and dependencies.

Every app needs at least 256 MB. Use 512 MB or more for a public website or API, then increase it based on observed usage.

Your server must listen on port 80.
