Find vulnerabilities in the components that run your app

Shard Cloud vulnerability scanning checks an application's runtime, dependencies, and base image for known issues when available. Run it from Security & runtime, then review findings, warnings, and score history.

From scan to review

A report you can inspect, not just a pass or fail

See what was checked, which issues were found, and how the score changes after later scans.

Explore capabilities

Scan when you need a current report

Start an on-demand check for an application from Security & runtime and see when the report was created.

Review the affected components

Findings show severity, status, component, version, and available fix or source details so you can decide what to address.

Follow the score over time

Use scan history to compare scores and see recently fixed issues. The dashboard shows how long that history is retained.

What the report shows

Inspect the evidence behind each scan

Targets, findings, warnings, and history stay together in the application settings so you can review the result in context.

Runtime

See the runtime and version included in the check.

Dependencies

Review package findings and the component versions involved.

Base image

See base image findings when the scan has an image target to check.

One-click dependency updates

Review the proposed diff before choosing whether to apply supported dependency updates automatically.

Score history

Compare results across scans and see recently fixed issues.

Warnings and exceptions

Check skipped advisories and warnings, or ignore a known issue with a recorded reason.

Score history

See how the score changes after each scan

After updating a dependency, runtime, or base image, scan again and compare the new score with the previous report.

A higher score is one signal. Review findings, warnings, and checked targets too; ignored issues are excluded from the score.

One-click dependency updates

You'll be able to review the proposed changes as a diff in the report, then apply supported dependency updates automatically with one click if you choose.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about Vulnerability scanning

Open an application, go to Settings > Security & runtime, and select Run scan. The page also loads the latest available report.

It checks the application's runtime, dependencies, and base image when those targets are available. The report lists the targets checked and shows warnings when part of the check could not be completed.

Findings can identify a vulnerability, end-of-life or outdated component, or malicious package. The report shows severity, affected status, component and version, and fix or source details when available.

You'll be able to review a diff of the proposed changes in the scan report. If you choose to proceed, Shard Cloud will automatically apply supported dependency updates to your app. No changes will be applied without your choice.

Core, Pro, and Enterprise include a daily scan allowance. Free and Basic have a limit of zero. See the pricing page for current daily limits.

Enterprise plans can enable automatic vulnerability scans for an application from Security & runtime. Manual scans remain available within the plan's daily allowance.

You can view the latest report for up to 45 days after a scan. Score history is retained for 45 days and updates after manual or automatic scans.

No. The score covers known findings and skipped advisories, excludes ignored findings and unchecked items, and may be unavailable. Review warnings and checked targets alongside the score.

Members with permission to control the application can ignore an issue with a reason and optional expiration date. Ignored issues remain visible and are excluded from the score.
